Bio
Julia Morrison Summers
Julia is a singer-songwriter with a unique Indie-folk style that digs right into the core of the human experience. Her music has been described as eclectic and full of heart. “Her lyrics just punch the gut in the most relatable, powerful, and poetic way.” -Eleanora of ELEANORA magazine
Julia grew up surrounded by music and musicians. Her dad was a band director and her mom was a private clarinet instructor, so she had early exposure to an abundance of music-making. As a child, she studied voice, piano, and violin and began performing in theatrical productions, commercials, and voiceovers. All of these early experiences came together to shape her performance style, but it wasn’t until she studied music therapy and began playing guitar at NYU, that she discovered the art and joy of songwriting.
After living through the stresses of a global pandemic, Julia began to feel a strong urge to live her life fully and to bring beauty into the world at every opportunity. She is now enjoying the thrill of performing music with and for other people again.
You can find Julia’s original songs, “Not Alone,” in the award-winning film, “Sun Dogs,” and “Instructions for You,” in the short film, “Warning Labels.” She was also recently featured as the headlining performer for Apartment 3c’s Living Room Concert Series. Julia continues to enjoy performing her original tunes on Monday nights at Kulak’s Woodshed in North Hollywood.
